Watch how this real vanlifer survived living on the road

Nick Sanders, also known as Captain Gnarkill, lived the real vanlife. The van gets eight miles per gallon and six miles per gallon while towing. Sanders believes that living in a van is more economical than paying high rent prices for something that one would never own. The van is almost 100% off the grid and has a battery bank and carbon filter for drinking water. Sanders carries two six-gallon jugs of water, a pesticide sprayer, and uses a pool noodle with a bag and a bucket for the bathroom. He also drained 26 cans of Great Stuff spray foam into all the walls for sound deadening and insulation. Sanders' kitchen is basic, with a propane stove and a cheap MDF ceiling. He made all the curtains and replaced the dome lights with his own. Sanders' van is a small space, but it works for him. He advises people who want to travel around in a van or car to go for it because it's a unique experience and one only gets so many of those before the time is up.
